Dear Supporter,
Welcome to our newest means of communicating with our ever-growing community of golfers, guests, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and friends. By virtue of your tremendous support over the years, we've grown in numbers of both golfers and guests, and resources generated for brain tumor research at Dana-Farber. When this began back in 2000, who knew that we'd be where we are now? Through all of it, you continue to enable us to fulfill our mission, to "honor lives and offer hope" to all those touched by cancer. Please use the link on the bottom of this email to forward to everyone you know and help us spread the word.

It's All Who You Know
In life as well as in business, it's all in who you know. Our events have been built on a vast network of corporate partners and in-kind donations, which enable us to keep our guest cost low, thereby increasing attendance, while providing our sponsors with a means of supporting the Jimmy Fund and cancer research at a very critical level. However, we've had difficulty securing corporate partners for our 2008 events
Strength in Numbers
There really is strength in numbers. By combining resources from our second annual Golf Ball in March with those from our eighth annual Par Fore the Cure Golf Classic in June, a combined 600 people generated $43,000 for brain tumor research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. This year's work brings the total amount raised throughout our history to $173,000.
Mark your calendars now for the Third Annual Golf Ball, Saturday, March 29, 2008, in the International Ballroom of the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. Join over 250 guests, survivors and supporters alike, for an evening of music, dancing, a sit-down gourmet dinner, cocktail, and inspiring speakers at this golf-themed black-tie gala to benefit the Jimmy Fund.
Dr. Patrick Wen, neurooncologist at Dana-Farber, updates us on the progress made with the funds raised by the Par Fore the Cure and Golf Ball last year
The Par Fore the Cure Golf Classic and its Golf Ball honors the lives of everyone affected by brain tumors, and offers hope to patients, families, and practitioners by raising awareness and funding brain tumor research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. We strive to make our events an occasion of compassion and philanthropy, and the single best time anyone can spend in any golfing realm. Through in-kind food donations and corporate partnerships, we endeavor to run our events efficiently, ensuring that our bottom-line donations increase while our costs remain affordable to all guests. The Par Fore the Cure was founded in 2000 by Michael Strong to honor the memory of friend who lost his battle with a brain tumor. Since then, the Par Fore the Cure has raised $173,000. The 2008 goal is $60,000 through The Golf Ball and golf tournament, raising the nine-year contribution to more than $225,000.
