Peter D. Gamble Scholarship Foundation

Peter Gamble was a lifelong resident of Marblehead, Mass. and a graduate of the Marblehead High School Class of 1983. He worked as an Environmental Consultant and was an avid outdoorsman, often fishing, snowboarding and hiking with his family and friends. Sadly, Pete passed away in 2003 after a courageous, year-long battle with brain cancer. In his honor, an annual scholarship fund was created in 2004.

As an avid fisherman, family and friends chose to create Pete's Fishing Derby as its fundraising endeavor, a stellar day on the ocean and a great after-party. Lots of friends ... lots of family ... and lots of fun had by all at this annual event. The Sixth Annual Pete's Fishing Derby will be held from August 21-22 in Marblehead, Mass. For full details and registration, go to  Pete's Fishing Derby .

The Peter D. Gamble Scholarship Foundation awards an annual scholarship in Peter's memory to a Marblehead High School senior pursuing a college education in the field of Environmental Science. Peter's passion for protecting the environment led him to a degree in Environmental Science and a career actively protecting and aiding the environment. The Foundation hopes to further Peter's goals by assisting with college tuition for the candidate most likely to succeed in that field.

In addition to the annual scholarship, the Peter D. Gamble Scholarship Foundation contributes to two causes: Brain cancer research and environmental awareness.
